The GVTT Report

The Libresse Global V Taboo Tracker is our ongoing research helping project, designed to better understand taboos around wombs, periods, and vulvas. Because understanding is critical to making change.

Why it matters

Before we can dismantle taboos, we need to understand them. We need to know what work still needs to be done, and how much work there is left to do. The GVTT helps to uncover what taboos around the V-Zone exist globally, how these taboos compare between men and women, and the challenges and opportunities in breaking them down.

Our first report identified a number of themes including period, pain, pleasure, motherhood & menopause.
36%
36% of Malaysian women think that when a woman enters menopause, people start to see her as “old”
31%
Nearly a third of (35%) Malaysian men and women (27%) think that women shouldn’t complain about the pain they experience during their period
34%
Only 34% of Malaysian women have discussed their intimate area with their partner
