What should I do when something is amiss with my period?

Do you suspect something’s wrong down there? Did you miss a period or did your period start behaving differently than before – appearing at odd intervals or not coming at all? Causes for irregular or missed periods include stress, malnutrition, pregnancy, excessive exercise, changes in hormonal balance (could be caused by hormonal contraceptives) or menopause. If you’re in the early years of having your period, irregular periods could be perfectly normal, since it often takes a while for the cycle to stabilize. Whatever the cause is for your irregular period consider consulting a doctor, you shouldn’t walk around worrying.
