Does what I eat affect my period?
A balanced diet is important to all people, so try to maintain one for yourself. It helps you feel great, and keeps your body in order. Some women, who lose a lot of blood during their periods need to eat foods rich in iron such as red meat, almonds, spinach and apricots - all great sources of iron. You also need carbohydrates, fat, protein and a slew of vitamins and minerals. Eating well helps you function at your best. It’s a question of treating yourself with dignity and respect. Many young women think they need to suffer and be on a perpetual diet to look good. Nothing could be more wrong. Eating lots of tasty veggies, leafy greens, fruits, nuts and fish is the best way to have a healthy, beautiful body. Eat meat too, if you like. Try to go for organic products, for all kinds of reasons, but primarily because eating organic food means less additives and toxins in your diet = less toxins in your body.
